TVAB International AB gives notice to 57 people in Sweden
TVAB International has today announced the intention
to cease production at the Töcksfors plant. As
a result notice will be given to 57 people at the plants
in Töcksfors and Skänninge in Sweden. Negotiations
with the union have started in accordance with Swedish
labour regulation.
TVAB has during the past few years experienced a rapid
sales growth and reached a turnover 2007 of € 29
million. The positive trend continued for the first
part of 2008. Since a few months our customers have
reduced their orders substantially. This unfortunate
trend increased sharply the last few weeks, reflecting
the dramatic slowdown of the world economy.
In order to safeguard the running business and the
future progress of the company the management has decided
to concentrate all manufacturing to TVAB’s main
plant in Lodz, Poland. Headquarter and a reinforced
customer focused sales and project organisation will
remain in Sweden.
With these actions TVAB will considerably reduce costs,
improve the competitiveness and secure a strong market
position
